Tahoe Getaway Recap

A few weekends ago Randy and I went on a little getaway to Tahoe and let me just tell you how amazing it was!  We are fortunate enough that we only live about 4 hours away from North Lake Tahoe.  We arrived Friday afternoon and checked out Tahoe City first so we could walk up to the lake.  It was a beautiful sight with the snow capped mountains in the distance.

Then we headed to the hotel to check in.  We stayed at The Resort at Squaw Creek and even though it was a bit pricey it was 100% worth every penny!  We decided to ball out and get a “forest view” suite, which was a great decision.  We even had our own fireplace!

The amount of things to do on the property definitely kept us busy.  The views are divine, the lobby was decked out with a giant tree and life size gingerbread houses, and they even have a lift that takes you right to the slopes.  They also have a little shuttle that takes you to Squaw Village, which is where we had lunch on Saturday.

After snowboarding, we relaxed by the outdoor fireplace until our dinner reservation at “Six Peeks”, which is their resident steak house.  I highly recommend the “S’mores Lava Cake”!!! Lastly, If you decide to plan a trip here don’t forget your swim suit! The pool is constantly set to 80 degrees and they have not one but THREE hot tubs.

Hopefully Tahoe will get more snow this winter so we can plan another trip!  It was a little icy this time around so I can only imagine how great it will be with some fresh powder.  Lately, I’ve been researching for our next vacation in January to Disney World!  Let me know if you have any recommendations!  Xoxo, G
