My Top 5 Travel Essentials

Happy Monday everyone!  It’s a new week and I’ve safely made it to Orlando. I will be here for an entire week for the National Kitchen & Bath Show and then Disney World! Packing for a trip like is no easy task so I always plan my outfits ahead of time and write down everything in list format so there’s no way I forget anything when packing.  I also wanted to share with you all some of my travel essentials that help make traveling a breeze!

1. Travel-Size Products

I have a DIY travel kit I made that I use on every trip that was super simple to make.  I like doing this instead of trying to pack all my full size products  (like I used to in the past) because I would always end up forgetting something important and it was just a big mess trying to fit everything together in one organized place.  So I went to Ulta one day, picked out a medium size cosmetic bag and good quality products in travel sizes that covered everything I need from toothpaste to hair products to shaving cream.  Target has a great selection of travel size products as well.  I only use this kit when I’m on a trip so it doesn’t end up running out as quickly as you’d think.  Something I do that works for me and makes packing a little less stressful 🙂

2. Wrinkle Fixer

There is nothing worse than packing a new outfit for a trip and then putting it on for the first time and it’s FULL of wrinkles.  I used to bring my steamer on every trip with me, which is a little crazy I know, but it was the only way I could ensure a wrinkle free outfit.   It wasn’t until I came across the Downy Wrinkle Releaser that traveling became so much easier! This stuff is a necessity! Find it HERE.

3. Scarf that Doubles as a Blanket

Iswear by the Lulu Lemon vinyasa scarf that can be worn in tons of different ways.  The material is light weight so I can easily carry it in my bag or around my neck as a scarf and then use it as a blanket while I’m on the plane and it actually keeps me warm.  I have yet to wear it all the different ways, but how cute and versatile, right?!  Find it HERE.

4. Healthy Snacks

I am the type of person that gets hungry after just a couple hours so having snacks are clutch for me.  Especially when the airport/plane doesn’t exactly have healthy options.  My usual go-to is fruit like an apple or a banana.  Last week my mom gave me a bunch of oranges from her tree so this trip I’ll be that one girl peeling an orange at the gate.  I have no shame though!  I also get pretty dehydrated whenever I fly so I always try to buy a water bottle before I get on the plane because those little cups they give out just don’t do it for me.

5. A Good Book

Unfortunately not every flight will play a movie so I always like to have something to do on the plane so that time goes by quicker.  I’ve been super into listening to audio books in the car lately so I already had a great book picked out.  I’m sure you’ve heard of it, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck”.  This was perfect for the plane because sometimes the person next to me is sleeping so I feel bad turning the bright reading light on.  This way I can just lay back, close my eyes and listen to my book in peace.

What are some of your favorite travel necessities?!  Xoxo, G
